CAROLYN

KHOO

Owner & Therapist
How It All Began

I have always loved receiving massage, but finding someone who actually listened was rare. Many therapists said they tailored treatments, yet most followed their own plan. I often walked out feeling unchanged, or worse, with new tension I did not arrive with.

At the same time, I always enjoyed giving massage to friends and family. Eight years ago, while still in an office job, I trained properly, set up Khoo Massage Therapies, and never looked back.

My aim from day one was simple. I wanted to offer the type of treatment I had been searching for. A treatment where you have a say. A treatment where your time and money go into hands on work, not long chats or strange posture assessments when all you want is release from tight, painful muscles.

My Approach

Choosing a therapist is personal. Some people want something spiritual with crystals and energy work. Others prefer a clinical, sports based style.

I sit somewhere in the middle.

Years of piano lessons shaped the way I use my hands. My massage work is rhythmic and expressive, guided by the music I select for each session. That musical training also taught me how to control pressure with accuracy. Strong when it needs to be, gentle when your body asks for it, always effective.

Every treatment I offer has come from years of trying things on myself, learning what works, letting go of what does not, and always looking for better ways to reduce pain and improve comfort.

My Treatments

TMJ Intra Oral Therapy

I personally suffer from TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) Dysfunction, migraines, tinnitus, and chronic neck/shoulder tension. After years of self-treatment, I developed effective techniques that have helped countless clients dealing with the same issues. If you grind your teeth, clench your jaw, or wake up with headaches, this is for you.

Signature Head Neck & Shoulder

These are the areas where I carry my own tension. Most therapists I saw either did not have the strength or simply skimmed over the knots. My signature treatment focuses on slow, precise work that reduces tightness instead of sliding over it. I adjust the pressure to your comfort level so the session feels both therapeutic and enjoyable.

Deep Tissue Massage

I searched for someone who could give a strong, purposeful, relaxing deep tissue treatment. I never found it, so I became it. I learnt that I had the strength, intuition and calm focus to offer deep work that releases tension without feeling harsh or punishing.

Pregnancy Massage

When I was pregnant nearly 20 years ago, I struggled to find a therapist who would massage me rather than just lightly stroke my skin. After my training, I developed a more therapeutic approach; one that feels just as effective as a standard massage, with adjustments made for safety.

Menopause Massage

Currently navigating peri/menopause myself, I’ve researched and trained in techniques to ease symptoms and improve well-being. This treatment supports women through hormonal changes with a focus on relaxation, circulation, and tension relief.

Microneedling

I did not expect to offer this. After training, I realised how beneficial it was. My skincare routine has always been simple. Clean face, moisturiser, done. Approaching fifty and noticing hormonal changes in my skin pushed me to try something new. Microneedling surprised me. It was comfortable despite my low pain tolerance, and the results were immediate.
