Absolutely brilliant. Carolyn listened to where my pain was and my story and then managed to somehow follow the pain and find all the points that have been giving me issues. It was absolutely amazing. Really deep and intense, I was able to feel my muscles move and relax as she manipulated and applied pressure. Carolyn clearly, really knows her stuff and is highly skilled in muscular and skeletal anatomy. She is also strong and able to sustain a hard pressure which I have found some therapists find hard to sustain. She also ended with a very relaxing head massage which was incredible. Carolyn is an incredible masseuse - I have felt so nurtured and cared for in all of my prenatal massage appointments, she still gives a really firm massage (unlike lots of others who seem to think pregnant women can only be stroked!) and I come away feeling a million times better. I have severe endometriosis and have recently had laparoscopic surgery. I have had really bad experiences with my GP, Gynaecological services and others in the biomedical profession. This was the first massage treatment I had booked since before lockdown so was a little unsure of how it would be. From the initial booking phase Carolyn was clearly on top of the situation, following protocal and ensuring that you are fully aware of the hygiene practises in place to ensure a safe environment for everyone. I have a constant dull shoulder blade pain and have been to other therapists in the past but my experience with Carolyn far exceeded those I had previously seen. From even before the visit, her professionalism and perfectionism came through with clear and precise communication on the set up and times. Her immaculate hygiene plan in no way hindered or compromised on the quality of the treatment. The atmosphere of her studio is tranquil unlike many shop front places which can be noisy from the traffic or customers coming and going. She really listened to what I needed but also relied on her intuition to give the most unique personalised massage. I also like the fact that not only does she not play "whale music", her playlist is superb. I have now been pain free for a week and I will definitely be recommending her to others as well as visiting again.

Carolyn gives the best massage I've had in London, amazing pressure and a naturally healing touch. She works out of her home but it is a completely safe environment and location, I felt so comfortable with her and her Covid precautions especially. You leave shoes outside the door, clean your feet, put belongings in a designated box, and wear your mask which you can adjust during the session. Carolyn wore full protective gear and I felt safe getting a massage. I recommend the 90 minute if you really need a FULL BODY massage with a lot of work done. She worked out a huge knot in my shoulder and I will be booking my second appointment asap!

Best massage I've had. I regularly have massages and this was easily the best. Easy to find, nice peaceful room and fantastic massage including hot stones. I will certainly be returning. One of the things I have missed during lockdown is a massage. I find that they help me relax and sleep better. As soon as I knew khoo Massage Therapies was reopening I was back there. I knew I could trust that things would be safe interms of the virus. Of course Carolyn proved me absolutely right. I had another brilliant massage. The massage was one of the best I've had. As someone with considerably tight shoulders and consistent body tension, I regularly have to ask for 'more pressure' in my massages. And to my surprise and absolute delight Carolyn was great with pressure and 'firmness' *which I rate as a BIG positive in any massage). The other big positive was Carolyn actually focused on the areas that were sore. So often the therapists asks 'whats sore, what do you want me to focus on?" and then just does whatever they want (haha, awkward pauce), but what was great was that she spent the time really focusing, relieving the pressure and working into the needed areas. Thank you. 5 stars, more if that was an option, she's worth the time and voyage out east. 

Relaxing and calming atmosphere. Carolyn has the ability of making you feel so comfortable and allow you to have a tremendously healing experience. I leave every session feeling refreshed and renewed. What I particularly like is her ability to make you relax and use innovative techniques that are unique to her.

I went to see Carolyn for a deep tissue massage. I suffer badly with tension headaches and I had a really terrible tension headache before my session. Carolyn has a wonderful technique, she has strong hands, goes very deep and does lots of deep neck stretching. After a good nights sleep I woke up headache free. For anyone who suffers with bad headaches you will know how hard it can be. I’m so happy to have found Carolyn and will continue to use her from now on.

I went to Carolyn on a friends suggestion even though I'd started seeing another masseuse. I have a lot of metal work in my spine from scoliosis and my dear masseuse friend of 7 years who I would visit every week for pain respite moved away leaving me in limbo. I briefly spoke to Carolyn and she ensured me that she would follow my lead. I was adamant that she not touch my lower back as I am still recovering from two spine operations. My shoulder and neck were giving me excruciating pain and Carolyn managed to get some of the big muscular knots out allowing me to lift my arm above my head for the first time in months without pain. She also applied very deep tissue pressure which is exactly what I wanted and asked for-believe me it hurt like hell but the results are amazing. She will go lighter if that is what you want, but I am so used to pain and a lot of pummelling. On arrival, she welcomed me with a herbal tea and made me feel very safe and comfortable. I booked my second session before i left. She will be my new go to. For me a massage isn't a luxury, it is a necessity, however, I do enjoy a good lie down and I actually dozed off whilst she was pummelling my knots.

I don't normally leave reviews but I had such a wonderful experience of a unique massage from Carolyn, I think everyone should book one and experience it for themselves. Her professionalism was amazing not to mention her kindness, caring, healing and spiritual way. I booked in for a 90 minute Swedish Massage but she added some hot stones, foot bathing and heat therapy also. I felt her therapy was healing and she knew exactly where and how to place her hands on my body. I could not leave without booking my next one as I was afraid she would not be able to fit me in. I suffer with intermittent Achilles tendonitis due to work and training. Foam rolling and stretching doesn't help at all. After receiving a deep tissue massage from Khoo, the pain has completely vanished! I would strongly recommend!

I would highly recommend Carolyn, following two sessions with her either side of the Hackney Half marathon. My first session was fantastic in helping me prepare for the race and my follow-up session was just what I needed to soothe some aches and pains! Carolyn has a lovely flat in a quiet street in Hackney, and as soon as you arrive you are made to feel welcome and relaxed. Carolyn herself as a very calm and open demeanour and I am hoping to arrange for her to come to my workplace to provide some of my colleagues with some much needed relaxation through head, neck and shoulder massage. My first massage from Carolyn was excellent. She is really friendly, professional and very quickly managed to understand my problem areas and had the strength to provide a genuinely deep tissue massage. I will be buying a multiple massage package soon!

Had an absolutely amazing deep tissue massage with Carolyn in December - she really listened to exactly what I wanted, targeting tension in my neck and especially my shoulders as well as using her skill and intuition to find and relieve tension I didn't know I had in my lower back, hips and hands. An incredible combination of deep tissue massage with excellent pressure, hot stones and neck stretches - finishing with a lovely head massage I practically floated out feeling a foot taller! Great taste in music and lovely clean, relaxing environment. Excellent value - have recommended to friends already.

Brilliant tailored massage, Carolyn asked me what I felt I needed and I left feeling the tension had left my body, and I felt a lot lighter and more relaxed. I also felt the massage really had a lasting impact. Carolyn is very friendly and welcoming and the space is nice and relaxing too. Worth traveling to from further afield for a great massage and you can combine it with a walk in the lovely Victoria Park.

My massage with Carolyn today was without a doubt one of the best massages I have ever had. After a chat we decided on a combination of Swedish and deep tissue as I had some typical mum tensions including lower back and shoulder ache from lifting my young baby but also wanted something indulgent and relaxing. She was so intuitive and almost felt like she was in my mind, targeting all of the areas I needed her to work on. I have already recommended her to several friends and would love to return.

I have been here twice now and have been very happy with the whole experience. Carolyn has created a calm, relaxing and clean space. Carolyn is lovely and friendly, she asks before the massage what exactly you would like and she really listens and adjusts the massage accordingly. I've been having problems with my back and the massage she gave me today has really helped with this as well as being a completely relaxing experience. I think she's very considerate as she checks if the pressure, temperature etc is okay. She also places a warm towel on your feet so they don't get cold which I think is lovely! Carolyn's skills as a masseuse and her attention to detail make this a great place to go. Highly recommended.

Khoo Massage Therapies was recommended to me by a friend. Carolyn was really welcoming and her space was lovely and inviting. It was very easy to relax! The massage itself was wonderful (as well as being great value for money) and I felt great afterwards. It also made a nice change to listen to good quality piano music, rather than the usual 'relaxing' pan pipes. I'll definitely be going back again soon.

Wow! I loved the caring and brilliant massage from Carolyn. I have a problem shoulder that ostepathy and acupuncture hasn't been able to sort this time, but I will continue to work with Carolyn to manage it because I think she is great ; ) 👍

I absolutely enjoyed everything about my experience with Carolyn. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely good at what she does! I went to see her for terrible neck/shoulder/back pain. She focused on these areas for one hour working on EVERY SINGLE KNOT. She checked in with me often to check pressure level and how I was feeling. I have been looking for a local massage therapist and I stumbled across Carolyn's leaflet, I really wish I had found Carolyn sooner! From the minute you enter her home, you feel like your entering an oasis of calmness and tranquility. The massage itself was excellent, I couldn't recommend it enough. I had some pain on my lower back and Carolyn took the time to really massage into the target area, whilst being gentle at the same time. Carolyn uses hot stones combined with lovely essential oils, which leave you feeling reinviogorated. The full body massage is really good value for money and I will definitely be going back for more massages xx

Carolyn has created a lovely relaxing space and atmosphere to enjoy a massage. I went for a massage due to a troublesome shoulder from working at a pc and what I liked was that Carolyn identified the area and concentrated on it to relieve the tension. I find this to be far preferable to someone going through the motions to earn the fee. I will certainly be going back.

Carolyn's deep tissue was amazing! I get regular massages as I do allot of sport and gain neck problems through work and thought I'd try someone local this time, I was not disappointed, she's incredibly experienced and I felt safe and relaxed in her hands. She communicates with you the whole way through to get instant feedback on the trigger points and pressure, then adapts accordingly. A lovely lady and a damn good masseuse :)
