Couples Massage
Tutorial

Bringing you closer together

Learn to care for each other with touch.
Our couples massage tutorials teach simple, practical techniques you can use at home — helping you ease tension, connect, and have fun together.

A recent study by Northumbria University found that when couples exchanged massages even with no prior experience it boosted both their physical and emotional wellbeing. Touch, when shared with intention, can be transformative.

That’s the foundation of our couples massage tutorials. You don’t need to be a therapist to make a real difference with your hands. These sessions help you feel more connected, present and confident with one another; not only physically but emotionally as well.

Our 1-to-1 tutorials last 1.5hrs and are fun, lighthearted and fully tailored to you. I use plain language and focus on what works for your bodies rather than textbook routines. This is not about qualifications. It is about giving you simple, effective skills you can use at home without turning massage into a big production.

- Kitchen Table
This section covers a practical ten minute neck and shoulder sequence you can use at the kitchen table or during work from home days. It helps ease the usual desk bound tension. You learn how to tailor it to each other’s preferences and how to work safely with minimal effort. Your thumbs will thank you.

- Netflix and Chill
This part is for quiet evenings when you want to wind down together. You learn either a hand or foot routine plus a head massage sequence that helps calm the nervous system and prepare for sleep. These are skills you can use on an ordinary weekday without planning anything special.

In a typical session, you will:
- Explore safe pressure and body awareness
- Practise practical techniques for shoulders, back, neck and head
- Learn how to read feedback through touch
- Build confidence in both giving and receiving
- And enjoy the process together

- People often tell me that these tutorials give them more than just massage skills. They find new ways of communicating, listening and showing care.

One client shared:

“We left with new skills but also a new way to interact. Massage is such a wonderful way of surfacing tensions we didn’t even know we were holding.”

Whether you have been together for years, are just starting out or simply want to share this with a friend, the couples massage tutorial suits anyone who wants their care to grow together.

What others say

"My partner and I went to a couple's massage workshop and totally LOVED it. Carolyn is a fantastic massage therapist with the most wonderful warm energy, and the fun, safe space she created for us to learn some massage techniques, build our confidence, and connect with one another was just magic. We're so happy to have found the absolute gem that is Khoo Massage Therapies!"

"I brought my partner a couples massage tutorial for his birthday - but, in the end, it was very much a present to our relationship and us both. Carolyn's studio is inviting, inspiring and sets a deep grounding for a joyful and sincere session. Right from the start, we were learning - not just the practicalities of DIY massage but about the opportunity it offers to communicate better with each other. We left with some new skills - but, also, a new way to interact with, better understand and have fun with each other. Massage is such a wonderful way of surfacing and sharing the tensions we might not have realised we're holding onto - something that Carolyn very naturally brought awareness to. The techniques she taught us were simple, effective and very much adapted to our different physicalities. Oh, and it was so much fun too! We laughed. A lot. Would heartily recommend to every couple we know. Single? Take a friend! You won't regret it."
